Following White Coat Waste Project’s recent exposé of abuses including fatal botched surgeries on dogs by a “reckless” experimenter at the McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, the influential Daily Caller determined that the incompetent surgeon may still be performing procedures on veterans. From their exclusive story:

Despite internal reports at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA medical center revealing that a doctor was banned from performing various surgeries on dogs because of his abysmal track record of fatalities, the facility still has him listed as an active physician.

The ABC affiliate in Richmond, VA subsequently confirmed that the disgraced staffer is still performing procedures on veterans at the McGuire VAMC. Watch their investigation here:

This is just the most recent in a long history of oversight failures at the McGuire VAMC, including employing an unlicensed and disgraced pharmacist, improper medical waste disposal, whistleblower retaliation and citations for dangerous workplace conditions.

The scandal-plagued Department of Veterans Affairs is badly in need of reforms and we’re working with Republican and Democratic congress members to end secrecy, waste and abuse in the agency’s animal laboratories.

Please join WCW, Congress and hundreds of thousands of fellow taxpayers by emailing your Members of Congress and asking them to end cruel, secretive and wasteful Veterans Affairs dog experiments.
