Liberty-loving YouTube sensation Julie Borowski has a new video out just in time for tax day with a call to action: Stop taxpayer funding of animal experiments.
Borowski describes how $15 billion a year is wasted by the government to induce heart attacks in dogs, run monkeys on treadmills, breed stuttering mice, force shrimp to fight and on other unnecessary and cruel animal experiments that aren’t improving Americans’ lives. She explains:
Our tax dollars go to a lot of experiments that waste time, money and hurt animals….This is something that both animal advocates and fiscal conservatives should be concerned about.
Of course, she’s right. Experts agree that animal experimentation is wasteful and that increased government research spending–half of which is spent on ineffective animal experiments–isn’t efficiently bringing us new cures.
Watch the video and then urge Congress to stop funding wasteful and deadly experiments on dogs!
Yes let’s stop funding animal research. Let’s stop the search for new life saving procedures, without ineffective experiments you would never have effective ones. Without failure you cannot progress. When my cousin died of cancer my first thought was….’you know what….we need to stop funding research because it obviously hasn’t gotten us anywhere. I’m glad my aunt survived breast cancer but kidney cancer killed my cousin. So whats the point? Eventually I will get it and I’m 100% positive that by that time they will not have discovered new ways to cure it so I might as well sit back and await my death.” Peace out
