Last year, WCW successfully got the NIH to cut active funding for the Wuhan Animal lab after we first exposed that the lab used your tax dollars for dangerous coronavirus experiments on animals that many experts believe may have caused the pandemic.
“Did taxpayer-funded animal experiments cause the worst catastrophe of our time? It’s increasingly plausible and we need to take steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again.”

Republicans Introduce Bill To Cut Off Funding For Wuhan Lab https://t.co/v0oeHRp4p5

🦠 🦠 🦠 Now, a new WCW-backed bill introduced by WCW Waste Warrior awardee Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) would permanently defund the Wuhan animal lab, making sure they never get another red cent of your money.🦠 🦠 🦠
It is unacceptable that the Wuhan virus lab that may have caused the pandemic remains eligible to receive US funds. I’m proudly cosponsoring the Defund Wuhan Institute of Virology Act to ensure US taxpayer dollars never again fund this dangerous lab. https://t.co/6LpzhXghQu

The Defund the Wuhan Institute of Virology Act would prohibit the NIH and all other federal agencies from sending your money to the Wuhan Animal Lab—an expansive, comprehensive prohibition that’s needed because while the NIH has been especially promiscuous on this front, the Dept. of Defense and the State Dept. have given the lab plenty of your cash, too. The bill also requires a report on how much taxpayer funding was shipped to the Wuhan facility over the past 15 years.
The Defund Wuhan Institute of Virology Act’s introduction follows WCW’s revelation that, even with the serious possibility COVID-19 leaked from this very lab, the Wuhan animal lab still remains eligible to receive money from the National Institutes of Health through 2024.

We are grateful to Waste Warrior awardee Rep. Perry for his tremendous, ongoing leadership to hold NIH accountable and close the Wuhan loophole, which allows your money to be shipped to the WIV for cruel animal experiments that literally put your life at risk.
Helping Rep. Perry introduce the bill are original cosponsors Reps. Brian Mast (R-FL), Bill Posey (R-FL), Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Tom Tiffany (R-WI), Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Diana Harshberger (R-TN), Robert Aderholt (R-AL), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Greg Steube (R-FL), Bob Gibbs (R-OH), Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) and Ronny Jackson (R-TX).
Let’s close it up, and do it fast, to make the world safer for animals and taxpayers.
