LAB LEAK LAWSUIT: WCW Sues NIH For Records on Bat Experiments, EcoHealth, Gain-of-Function, & Wuhan

  • White Coat Waste Project (WCW) has filed a new Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for failing to turn over documents following 17 different FOIA requests for animal testing records.
  • The disputed records relate to NIH funding and oversight of EcoHealth Alliance, the Wuhan lab, gain-of-function experiments, and animal testing at the NIH’s Rocky Mountain Lab and other taxpayer-funded virus labs.
  • WCW is suing for access to animal experimentation applications, animal purchase records, violation reports, meeting minutes, budgets, emails, videos, and photos.
  • In some of the cases, NIH has completely ignored the records requests, and WCW has been waiting since 2021 for the NIH to hand over documents.

This week, Dr. Fauci is being questioned by Congress behind closed doors about what happened in Wuhan, including—as White Coat Waste Project first exposed—how he conspired with EcoHealth Alliance to violate a federal gain-of-function funding ban to foolishly fund dangerous animal experiments at the unaccountable Wuhan lab that likely infected Patient Zero and caused COVID.

WCW is also forging forward with our ongoing investigations into the National Institutes of Health’s cruel and dangerous animal experiments at home and abroad.

WCW Lab Leak Lawsuit

Today, we filed a new lawsuit in federal court over 17 (!!!) FOIA requests that the NIH has failed to fulfill or even acknowledge. In some of the cases, we’ve been waiting for the NIH to hand over documents since 2021!

Among other records, we’re fighting for access to animal experimentation applications, animal purchase records, animal welfare and biosafety violation reports, meeting minutes, budgets, emails, videos, and photos related to ongoing WCW campaigns, including:

  • Animal experiments at NIH’s bioagent superlab, the Rocky Mountain Lab in Montana, including its deadly coronavirus experiments on bats purchased from a shady roadside zoo and its other maximum pain virus experiments on animals
  • Millions in active NIH grants and contracts given to the disgraced EcoHealth Alliance for reckless virus-hunting and animal experiments in the US and overseas, including the gain-of-function experiments on humanized mice in Wuhan, a new bat lab EHA is helping build at Colorado State University, and other projects.
  • Biosafety, national security, and funding concerns about the Wuhan Animal Lab.
  • NIH’s delays and denials of COVID-19 origins FOIA requests
  • NIH-funded gain-of-function experiments and other virus tests on ferrets, bats, and other animals at colleges and universities across the U.S.
  • A white coat at NIH’s virus superlab in Montana who has conducted exceptionally dangerous gain-of-function experiments on animals to engineer a deadly bird flu that’s more contagious to humans.

Taxpayers have a right to know how their money is being spent!
