WCW Investigation: NIH & State of Florida funded transgender monkey experiment (UPDATED)

  • White Coat Waste’s (WCW) latest investigation of transgender animal testing has exposed how active Fauci-era grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and funding from Florida’s Department of Health paid for a new study that created transgender lab monkeys.
  • In the taxpayer-funded experiment, male monkeys were implanted with pellets that released estrogen to crudely mimic human men taking hormones to transition to transgender women.  The hormone therapy caused the male monkeys to develop enlarged nipples and reddened “sex skin” that female monkeys exhibit when they’re ready to mate.
  • One monkey was killed because he developed severe “scrotal edema” from the estrogen pellet implant.
  • The monkey experiment was funded by four different NIH grants worth a total of $22 million—two doled out by Dr. Fauci—and funds from Florida’s Department of Health. Three of these NIH grants are active and run into 2026.
  • WCW’s investigation comes days before Congress will debate the NIH’s 2026 spending bill and consider a WCW-backed measure to defund transgender animal testing.

UPDATE (10/10/25): Citing WCW’s investigation, U.S. Congressman Brian Mast (R-FL), Florida State Rep. Meg Weinberger, and 16 other members of the Florida State House, have fired off a letter to FL Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo requesting that he investigate the Department of Health’s funding for these transgender monkey experiments and prohibit all future funding for similar animal experiments.

UPDATE (9/9/25): Following WCW’s investigations, grassroots pressure, and lobbying, the House Appropriations Committee passed a WCW-backed amendment to the NIH’s 2026 spending bill that cuts funding for all transgender animal experiments.

UPDATE (8/30/25): Following WCW’s investigation, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and other agency officials confirmed that the NIH is no longer funding these or any transgender animal experiments and that they will continue to work with WCW to cut animal tests.

ORIGINAL POST (8/29/25)
Following White Coat Waste’s viral investigations, shocking Congressional testimony, lobbying, and grassroots campaigning, President Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency have cut millions in funding for bizarre and cruel transgender animal experiments. However, WCW has exposed how many federal grants funding these tests are still active.

As first reported in The Gateway Pundit, a new WCW investigation exposed how active Fauci-era grants from the NIH and funding from Florida’s Department of Health paid for a newly published study that created transgender lab monkeys and injected them with mRNA to disrupt their immune systems.

The NIH-funded paper published earlier this week states, “To investigate the immune effects of estrogen within a male biological system, we administered [estrogen] to male [rhesus monkeys], modeling [feminizing hormone therapy] as prescribed to [transgender women].”

In the taxpayer-funded experiment conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, male monkeys were implanted with pellets that released estrogen to crudely mimic human men taking hormones to transition to transgender women.  The hormone therapy caused the male monkeys to develop enlarged nipples and reddened “sex skin” that female monkeys exhibit when they’re ready to mate.

Sixteen total monkeys were abused in the experiment. One monkey was killed because he developed severe “scrotal edema” from the estrogen pellet implant.

The horrendous monkey test was done with tax dollars by experimenters from the University of Florida, Scripps Research Institute, University of Wisconsin–Madison, Boston Children’s Hospital, The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Harvard Medical School, and Sweden’s Lund University.

WCW’s analysis of the experiment’s funding found it was bankrolled by four different NIH grants worth a total of $22 million. Three of these NIH grants are still active and funded through 2026, including one first approved by Dr. Fauci in 2020. The monkey test was also funded by Florida’s Department of Health.

Our new investigation comes days before the House begins debating the 2026 NIH spending bill. Citing WCW’s investigations, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) and colleagues recently submitted a request to defund transgender animal tests in the bill.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) also recently introduced the WCW-inspired TRANS MICE Act to prohibit taxpayer funding for transgender animal experiments.

Taxpayers should never be forced to bankroll barbaric transgender animal tests!

The solution is simple:
