WCW Investigation: Abusive Beagle Mill Sells Puppies to Labs Funded by Fauci & Others (UPDATED)

31 March 2025 | Blog

  • A White Coat Waste (WCW) investigation reveals how taxpayer dollars are being funneled to an abusive puppy mill that breeds beagles for painful and deadly experiments.
  • Documents obtained by WCW show puppies purchased with tax dollars from the disgraced Ridglan Farms are being tortured in tests funded by the National Institutes of Health.
  • Dozens of beagles from Ridglan are being subjected to Fauci-funded maximum pain tick bite experiments at the University of Missouri that WCW has been investigating since 2021.
  • Records obtained and reviewed by WCW expose how other dogs from Ridglan are being infected with viruses and force-fed and injected with experimental drugs in testing funded by the NIH, National Science Foundation, Department of Interior, and Department of Agriculture.

UPDATE (10/8/25): White Coat Waste’s investigation continues to follow the money from the NIH to labs that abuse puppies purchased from Ridglan Farms. We discuss our latest findings in this new TV segment:

In response, Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ) posted on X, “@NIH STOP funding lab experiments on pets.”

ORIGINAL POST (3/31/25)

For years, White Coat Waste has been following the money to despicable “pet profiteers” like the now-defunct Envigo beagle mill and Marshall Farms, which sells breeds and sells beagles to the NIH’s in-house laboratory for deadly septic shock experiments.

Our investigations have also exposed taxpayer-funded puppy and kitten mills at universities that intentionally breed dogs and cats to suffer from deformities and diseases, bleeding disorders, and severe vision impairments for abuse in experiments.

Now, one of the country’s last large-scale breeders of beagles for cruel and wasteful experiments, Wisconsin’s Ridglan Farms, is under fire for performing painful surgeries without anesthesia and other alleged criminal animal cruelty, causing suffering to the 3,000-plus dogs warehoused there in filthy wire cages.

WCW’s new investigation exposes how this beagle bully is being bankrolled with taxpayer dollars.  Records obtained using state open records law show how a Fauci-funded University of Missouri dog experimenter who WCW began investigating in 2021 is buying beagles from Ridglan for tick bite experiments.

In the experiments, funded by three active NIH grants totaling $12 million from Dr. Fauci’s NIH division, beagles from Ridglan have containers filled with hundreds of ticks glued to their bare skin so the insects can feed on them and infect them with various diseases.

Protocols and veterinary records obtained by WCW through open records requests show that many of the dogs from Ridglan are intentionally denied any pain relief as they contract viruses from the tick bites and suffer from pain, fevers, skin lesions, and weight loss.  The project calls for abusing a total of 398 dogs—some as young as four-months old—many of which will be killed.

No pain relief, no anesthesia, no mercy from the monsters using our tax dollars to conduct this abuse.

In another $597,893 NIH-funded experiment, 38 five-month-old beagles purchased from Ridglan by a for-hire animal testing facility were forced to inhale increasingly large doses of an experimental drug.

The dogs had gas masks strapped to their faces that made them breathe the drugs for 60 minutes at a time and as frequently as twice daily for two weeks.

The lab wrote that some of the dogs may die during the testing. At the end of the experiment, all the beagles were killed with a drug overdose or by being bled out before being dissected.

The NIH is not alone in subsidizing Ridglan’s beagle abuse. The Department of Interior, National Science Foundation, and the Department of Agriculture have also wasted tax dollars to fund experiments on dogs from Ridglan. Some of the institutions that have conducted tax-funded experiments on Ridglan dogs include the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Colorado State University, University of Georgia, Southern Research Institute, Kansas State University, and Texas A&M University.

Ridglan even raked in over $441,000 from two COVID bailout loans from the Small Business Administration that were completely forgiven.

Is this how you want your money spent?
