Elon Musk Joins Team #LabLeak

Polls show that a growing majority of Democrats and Republicans in the U.S., along with the FBI and scientists around the world believe the COVID pandemic was caused by dangerous taxpayer-funded coronavirus experiments on animals. Congress will soon be investigating, too.

Now, Elon Musk has joined Team #LabLeak. The billionaire recently tweeted that he wanted Anthony Fauci, the outgoing National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) head, prosecuted for lying to Congress about funding gain-of-function experiments in Wuhan.

Elon Musk is no doubt a divisive figure with a bad overall track record on lab animal issues. Whatever you think about his positions on other matters, though, he’s right about this one specific—and vitally important—animal testing issue.

Musk is referring to how Fauci, among many other fibs, swore to Senators in May 2021 that “the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”

Of course, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Remember the “This is Terrific!” email from Peter Daszak to Fauci’s colleagues at NIAID that we obtained through the Freedom of Information Act? We sure haven’t! Those damning emails show how Fauci’s team conspired with Daszak in 2016 to skirt the federal funding ban on gain-of-function and allow dangerous coronavirus experiments on animals at the Wuhan lab.

Later in 2021, now-interim NIH Director Lawrence Tabak confirmed in a letter to Congress that the Fauci-funded animal experiments at the Wuhan lab were, in fact, “gain-of-function.”

Since early last year, WCW polls have found that 75% of taxpayers want the lab leak investigated and for subpoenas to be issued, and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have pledged to finally investigate COVID’s origins. Hopefully, Congress can get the truth on how the pandemic really started and hold Fauci and other officials accountable for abusing their authority, science, animals, and taxpayers.
